Thank you Penney for the comment. I honor you as an educator. It has never been an easy or well paid career (with the exception of very few positions).

God bless you, your the first line of defense in our society and that responsibility should come with respect and support. I know that it in most systems, generally the responsibility does not come with either, if can be very challenging. I wish all of your kids and especially the broken ones, would get early support, intervention and treatment. Not a school to prison pipeline fed by silly zero tolerance policies. Some behaviors absolutely should be zero tolerance, not most.

Like a hurt animal, broken children needs consistent unconditional love and support. We need to arm our educators with the tools to address this serious issues that is important to all of us in the USA.

A next generation filled with broken adults, is how we have arrived at this time and crisis for democracy in America and the world. 40 years of hollowing out public education and a massive transfer of money and power to unregulated mostly religious charter or home schooling programs. Making people like our “all American Couple” in the article educators. Unqualified, ignorant adults, teaching the next generation of citizens and indoctrinating them into a religious system.

All underwritten by the taxpayers. And either cloaked in church non profit status or unapologetically for profit, primary eduction with little regulation. Not a very good idea.
