My apologies if I came off as lack of manners or if you did not like the tone of my reply. I feel deeply about this issue. I have witnessed police abuse and policing overreach for 40 years. The 80’s war on drugs, the 90’s crime bill, 9/11 and privatized prisons are all factors as to why, we have unqualified, over armed, undertrained and unaccountable police. Police should be required to be trained for 2 years as Guardians not warriors.

Military are warriors by design and in fact the our integrated battle space and men and woman in arms are the most potent military force on the planet in history. Warriors need to be trained to Kill! It’s their purpose. Police are supposed to be guardians not warriors….. full stop!
