I was in West Hollywood a few years ago and I was totally gobsmaked. The tents on every freeway on ramp and off ramp Made my spirit sorrowful. I had NO IDEA. We have homeless where I live but not even a fraction of that scale. I am sure it is worse with pandemic, inflation and the rest of our unrest. I stopped for a restroom visit at a CVS pharmacy. I don’t scare easily, but an individual with obvious mental health issues was roaming the parking lot and he scared me!! He was ranting at the sky, Menacing the customers and simply needed real help. We left and he did not approach me. I wanted to offer a little help a few bucks but something told me to keep it moving. Something need to be done to help the massive amount of homeless some with mental health issues and some simply can’t afford to rent a place or even get landlord approval. I get it, landlords would be loath to rent to homeless people. As a society we need to address this issue. It’s the core of the problems in major cities and suburbs. God says love thy neighbor as yourself. These are our neighbors in humanity. It should be a major priority!!
